At French’s Point, we believe that a truly unforgettable wedding experience is created not only by the setting, but by the talented partners who bring the celebration to life. We’re fortunate to collaborate with some of the most gifted photo and video professionals in the industry—artists who consistently describe French’s Point as a dream venue for its sweeping ocean views, versatile event spaces, and the way the property allows a full weekend of meaningful connection. Our preferred partners love the endless opportunities to capture the beauty, emotion, and natural storytelling that unfold across the estate.
Q: What are your favorite locations at French’s Point property to shoot on a wedding weekend?
From The Libbys Photo + Films, “The photo opportunities at French’s Point truly feel endless, which is one of the things we love most about working on the property. Regardless of the weather or light conditions, there are always beautiful and unique backdrops to give each couple a diverse gallery and unique wedding film. From the wide-open oceanfront lawn and sunset portraits on the private beach to aerial views of cocktail hour on the south terrace, the variety across the estate never disappoints.”
From Willow Grove Films, “Our favorite locations are probably the walking path out near the gazebo, the lawn at golden hour, as well as the rocky beach. They offer such diversity and differing looks throughout the day, which really helps move the film forward, by telling different stories throughout the day.”
From Natalya DeSena, “My favorite places to take pictures at French’s Point are the south patio during cocktail hour, the west porch of the Retreat House for first look, the ceremony spot by the gazebo, and the South beach for sunset photos. All of these locations offer beautiful light and an iconic backdrop of Maine’s beautiful coastline.”
Q: What do you love about working at French’s Point?
From Willow Grove Films: “The thing we love the most about working at French’s Point, is having such a scenic and beautiful location in ONE location. Prep, ceremony and reception without having to travel. This really helps us maximize our coverage time throughout the day but the property still provides an amazing backdrop for visuals. We can arrive an hour or so prior to our start time, and have tripods and light stands setup before our contracted start time. so when we start rolling with cameras, our time from then on is maximized with the couple. It helps smooth out our time on property, as we aren’t rushing to get things setup later on, and it gives our couples more footage for their film.”
From Natalya DeSena, “I love working at French’s Point because not only is the backdrop extremely stunning, but the property has the best locations to capture the various events of a wedding day. From a photography perspective, there isn’t one part of the day that is poorly lit which leads to beautiful portraits and stunning images. It’s one of my favorite venues in Maine and it’s an absolute dream for a photographer.”
From The Libbys Photo + Films: “Tented coastal weddings in New England are our specialty, and French’s Point is easily one of the most exceptional venues in Maine. Beyond the breathtaking views and variety of scenic backdrops, we love how the property naturally fosters connection through a full weekend of celebration. From Thursday lobster bakes and Friday welcomes to Saturday’s wedding and Sunday send-off brunches or beach days, every moment offers something unique to capture. It’s truly a dream venue for both photography and videography.”
